N Chandrasekaran Reappointed as Tata Sons Chairman, Shares Leadership Lessons

N Chandrasekaran will lead Tata Sons for another five years.

The board also approved plans for Tata Sons to become publicly listed.

He said Tata’s experienced employees are a major strength, but the company must also bring in new skills.

He believes artificial intelligence will greatly change how people work and how businesses operate.

Tata companies are also changing their energy sources, supply chains and products.

The group is investing in electric vehicles, hydrogen buses and renewable power.

Chandrasekaran said Air India still has problems, including poor interiors, faulty seats and unclean areas, but that some services are improving.

He wants Tata companies to fix their finances and simplify how they are organised.

He also said big goals require careful planning, discipline and patience.
