Thudakkam review: Vismaya Mohanlal shines, Mohanlal's cameo can't save
Thudakkam is a new movie from Kerala, in India, made in the Malayalam language.
It tells the story of a young woman named Meenu and her father, who move to a village in Idukki.
One day Meenu goes to a nearby city to write an exam and returns home late.
A bad man secretly follows her home without her knowing.
The movie shows how Meenu and her father deal with this dangerous man.
The main actress is Vismaya Mohanlal, and this is her first big movie.
Her very famous father, the actor Mohanlal, appears in a small role as her martial arts teacher.
A movie critic gave the film only two stars out of five.
The critic liked the action scenes and music but felt the story and dialogue were weak and not very original.
A brand-new actor named Aashish Joe Antony plays the villain in his first movie.
Thudakkam, a Malayalam action drama starring Vismaya Mohanlal and directed by Jude Anthany Joseph, received a 2-star review.
Mohanlal appears in a cameo as Meenu's martial arts master, which the critic calls pointless and forced.
The film follows Meenu, who is secretly shadowed by a serial sex offender villain after returning late from an exam in a village in Idukki.
Aashish Joe Antony, son of producer Antony Perumbavoor, makes his acting debut as the villain.
The review criticizes the generic script, heavy-handed dialogues and bland characterizations but praises the editing, action choreography and music.
