Bengaluru Faces Rising Traffic Scams

Bengaluru Faces Rising Traffic Scams

In Bengaluru, a man named Kiran Rajput was targeted by scammers near Richmond Circle.

A young man on an electric scooter claimed that Kiran's car hit his leg and demanded money for an injury.

Another man on a bike joined in, and they followed Kiran for about two kilometers, shouting and making religious remarks.

They demanded between ₹2,000 and ₹10,000.

Kiran refused to pay cash and asked for a UPI payment instead.

The scammers insisted on cash and even asked him to go to an ATM.

Kiran locked his car doors, dialed the police emergency number, and the scammers fled when they saw he had called the police.

A police officer arrived quickly and advised Kiran to install a dashcam and contact the police immediately if faced with a similar situation in the future.

Kiran also urged other motorists to be vigilant and not be afraid to call the police.
