Tiger Spotted, Makes Kill in Gujarat's Ratanmahal Forests
A tiger, like a big cat, has been seen in the forests of Gujarat.
This tiger, which came from a nearby state, made its first kill, meaning it hunted and ate an animal.
Officials are tracking the tiger, because they want to protect it.
The last tiger in the area died from not having enough food, so officials are working to make sure that doesn't happen again.
They hope the tiger stays healthy and maybe even attracts a female tiger to the area.
A male tiger was sighted and made its first kill in Gujarat's Ratanmahal forests.
The tiger is believed to have come from Madhya Pradesh's Kathiwada region.
Officials from the National Tiger Conservation Authority confirmed the tiger's presence via camera traps.
The tiger has been on Gujarat's borders since February, but made its first kill recently.
The state is monitoring the tiger's movement, fearing a repeat of a past incident where a tiger died of starvation.
