Odisha TB Patients Miss Nutrition Aid
Many poor tuberculosis (TB) patients in Odisha have not received their monthly ₹1,000 nutrition allowance since April.
This money is meant to help them eat well while they are being treated for TB.
Some patients and hospitals say that only a few people have gotten the money, even though it was promised.
The government says that most people have received the money, but some might still be waiting because their bank details are not updated.
There is also a campaign to find and treat more TB cases, but some workers who help find these cases say they are not being paid on time.
Thousands of TB patients in Odisha have not received the ₹1,000 monthly nutrition allowance since April.
Only about 300 out of 1,200 registered patients in Bhubaneswar have received the allowance.
Patients and hospitals report delays and missing payments, while the government attributes delays to unupdated bank details.
The state launched a 100-day TB campaign in December 2024 to boost detection and treatment.
ASHA workers report irregular payments for their incentives in referring TB cases.
