Congress Alleges SIR Lapses in DK
The Congress Party in Dakshina Kannada has raised concerns about how the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls is being conducted.
They say that some political leaders are trying to add names of people who no longer live at their registered addresses.
The Congress has deployed over 1,750 Booth Level Agents to help voters and monitor the process.
They also say that in some areas, the forms are being distributed by political party workers instead of the official Booth Level Officers, which could leave some voters out of the electoral roll.
The district administration has acknowledged the complaints and is looking into them.
