DRI Seizes 270 kg of Mephedrone Hidden in Chicken Feed
The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) found a big amount of a banned drug called mephedrone hidden in sacks of chicken feed on a truck.
The truck was on a highway in Rajasthan.
The drug, which makes people feel very happy for a short time, was worth a lot of money.
The DRI caught six people who were part of a group making and moving the drug.
They were using the chicken feed to hide the drug.
This is not the first time such a big amount of this drug has been found.
The DRI has been finding more and more of this drug lately.
Just last month, they found another big amount in Maharashtra.
This drug is cheap and easy to make, so more people are using it.
DRI seized 270 kg of mephedrone worth Rs 81 crore hidden in chicken feed sacks on a truck in Rajasthan.
The truck was intercepted on the Didwana-Kuchaman State highway based on a tip-off.
Six people from Haryana were arrested for manufacturing and transporting the banned substance.
The accused used the chicken feed consignment to disguise the movement of mephedrone.
This seizure is part of a larger trend of increased mephedrone manufacturing and smuggling in India.
