BDA Imposes Heavy Penalties on Vacant Sites
The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) is going to fine people who don't build houses on the land they got from the BDA within three years.
The fine will be 10% of how much the land is worth now.
They won't give the official papers for the land until the house is built.
Some people buy this land cheap and then try to sell it for a lot more, or they just leave it empty.
The BDA is doing this to make sure people build houses and don't just keep the land empty.
Some areas like Arkavathi and Nadaprabhu Kempegowda layouts won't have to pay the fine because they haven't been able to build yet.
If someone tries to sell the land without permission, they will have to pay a bigger fine.
The BDA thinks some people might not like this new rule, but they are going to do it anyway.
