Dress Allowance Rules Revised for Central Government Employees
The government has changed the rules for 'dress allowance,' which is money given to employees who need uniforms.
Now, employees who start or leave their jobs in the middle of the year will get a portion of the allowance.
This is the same for people who are hired after July 1, 2025.
The new rules were made to clear up any confusion, and the allowance is paid with the July salary.
If employees retire from October 2025, any extra money given out will be taken back, but not for those retiring before September 30, 2025.
The Centre revised rules for dress allowance for central government employees.
New employees joining after July 1, 2025, will benefit from the revision.
Employees joining or retiring mid-year will receive dress allowance proportionately.
The dress allowance is paid with the July salary.
Additional payments will be recovered from retiring employees starting from October 2025.
