Two Elephants Electrocuted in Khanapur Forest Range, Minister Orders Probe
In Karnataka's Khanapur forest, two young elephants, a boy and a girl, sadly passed away after touching a live electric wire.
This happened on a Sunday morning near a village called Sulegali.
The wire was part of a fence around a farm, and it seems to have been connected to an electric power line.
Forest rangers found the elephants, and the Forest Minister, Eshwar Khandre, was very sad about it.
He has asked his officers to investigate exactly how this happened and who is responsible.
The investigation is ongoing, and the forest officers are trying to figure out the details, including how the fence got connected to the live wire.
They are also planning to do a post-mortem on the elephants to understand more.
