Government Offers Legal Talks as Manoj Jarange Resumes Fast

Government Offers Legal Talks as Manoj Jarange Resumes Fast

Manoj Jarange Patil is protesting for reservation benefits for the Maratha community.

He restarted an indefinite fast at Antarwali Sarati.

An indefinite fast means he says he will continue refusing food until his demands are addressed.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said the government is ready to discuss demands that follow the Constitution and the law.

Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said Maratha reservation should not take away reservation already available to other communities.

Government representatives are meeting people at an event in Parbhani.

Fadnavis said the government had addressed similar issues before.

The government says it wants to find a way to resolve the protesters’ demands.
