Zomato CEO Clarifies Contact-Sharing Feature
Zomato, a food delivery app, has a new feature that lets restaurants get your phone number.
The CEO, Aditya Mangla, said you can choose to stop sharing your number anytime.
If you turn off this feature, future restaurants won't get your number, but numbers already shared can't be taken back.
You can disable this feature in the Zomato app by going to your profile, selecting 'Hear from restaurants,' and clicking 'Stop sharing now.'
This feature was made because restaurants wanted a direct way to talk to customers, and Zomato wants to give customers a choice.
Zomato's CEO Aditya Mangla clarified the contact-sharing feature on LinkedIn.
Users can withdraw consent anytime, but previously shared numbers can't be reversed.
The feature was launched at the request of restaurant partners for direct customer communication.
Users can disable the feature via the Zomato app's profile section under 'Hear from restaurants.'
Only phone numbers are shared with restaurants, and no other information is provided.
