Library Movement Transforms Education in Nashik Tribal Villages
In the Nashik area of India, a man named Pramod Gaikwad started a program to help kids in tribal villages learn.
He created libraries in 29 different villages since 2020.
These libraries use spaces provided by the villages and are filled with books and study materials.
They are paid for through donations.
Kids and their families are happy because the libraries are helping students do better in school and get jobs.
Because of the success of these libraries, more villages want to start their own.
The SNF Library Movement has established 29 community libraries in Nashik's tribal villages.
The initiative was spearheaded by Pramod Gopalrao Gaikwad.
The first library opened on January 3, 2020, in Savarne village.
Libraries are managed by villagers and funded through donations and CSR.
Over 100 students have secured government jobs due to the libraries' support.
