Vaad-Vivaad 2026 Semi-Finals Test Youth Views On India’s Identity
Vaad-Vivaad is a debate competition for young students.
Its semi-finals were held at VVIT College in Nambur on Wednesday.
Sixty students took part after more than 200 students registered.
They discussed how India should understand its role and identity in the changing world.
In one round, students prepared and spoke individually for one minute.
In another round, teams of three debated different ideas together.
Students could speak in Telugu or English.
The best 20 to 25 students will go to a final competition in Hyderabad.
Sixty shortlisted students competed in the Vaad-Vivaad 2026 semi-finals at VVIT College in Nambur on Wednesday.
The bilingual competition focused on India’s role and identity in the emerging global order.
Organisers received more than 200 registrations from students at over 15 colleges in the Vijayawada, Guntur and Amaravati areas.
Participants competed in an individual power round and a team debate conducted in Telugu and English.
Twenty to 25 semi-finalists will advance to the Hyderabad grand finale and compete against Hyderabad finalists.
