Errabelli Leads 10-Kilometre Protest Over Irrigation Water Crisis

Errabelli Dayakar Rao led a long protest walk because farmers said they were not receiving irrigation water.

The walk took place along a canal in Jangaon district.

He visited fields where paddy crops had dried up.

He said the Devadula reservoir had enough water, but the canals were still dry.

The government has claimed that 57,000 acres received irrigation water.

Errabelli questioned where that water had gone.

Police tried to arrest him, and a scuffle caused him to suffer a head injury.

He continued protesting and demanded compensation for affected farmers.
