India Plans Dual Squads for ASEAN Cup and Brazil Friendly
India is going to play Brazil in a friendly match on 3 October 2026 in Kolkata.
That same day, India also has to play the final of the FIFA ASEAN Cup in Indonesia.
The All India Football Federation thinks it might use two different teams so that some players can play in Kolkata and others can play in Indonesia.
They have 40‑50 good players to choose from.
The Brazil team will have famous players like Marquinhos and Vinicius Junior, so it will be a big game for India.
AIFF may field separate squads for the FIFA ASEAN Cup and the India‑vs‑Brazil friendly if India reaches the ASEAN Cup final.
The friendly is scheduled for 3 October 2026 at Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan, Kolkata.
AIFF Deputy Secretary General Satyanarayan Muthyalu says India has a pool of 40‑50 players to manage both competitions.
The Brazil match will feature stars such as Marquinhos, Casemiro, Matheus Cunha and Vinicius Junior.
The ASEAN Cup starts 24 September 2026 in Indonesia, with the final on 3 October, coinciding with the friendly.
