YouTube to Limit Reach of Low-Effort Shorts Reuploads

YouTube to Limit Reach of Low-Effort Shorts Reuploads

YouTube is changing how it recommends Shorts videos.

It wants viewers to see more original videos.

A channel that mostly copies other people’s videos may have its videos shown to fewer people.

Creators can still use clips if they add something meaningful, like their own comments or storytelling.

Small changes made just to disguise a copy may not be enough.

YouTube still lets people remix some eligible videos using its Shorts tools.

Those remixes can link back to the original video.

Copyright rules still apply separately, so using material without permission can lead to claims or takedowns.
