Rajasthan Acting Chief Justice Takes Leave Amid Lawyer Protests

Rajasthan's Acting Chief Justice, Sanjeev Prakash Sharma, has taken leave.

Lawyers had been protesting.

Because of an updated schedule, he will not hear cases at the Jaipur Bench from September 1 to September 5.

An earlier schedule was issued on August 24.

That schedule placed him and Justice Sangeeta Sharma together on a division bench.

The bench was supposed to hear several kinds of cases.

These included public-interest cases, appeals, income-tax matters and contempt cases.

It also included some cases filed by or against the High Court.
