IndiGo Set to Reintroduce Grounded Aircraft, Expanding Fleet
IndiGo, an airline, is bringing back many of its planes that were not flying due to engine problems.
They're also adding new planes, aiming to have about 80 more planes in the next year.
This means more seats will be available.
Experts think this could make ticket prices cheaper, but some say the impact on prices might be small because some new planes will be used for new routes.
The airline expects its capacity to grow a lot, especially in the first part of the next year.
IndiGo plans to add approximately 80 aircraft by early FY26, doubling its usual annual fleet growth.
The airline currently operates 434 active aircraft.
Around 70 IndiGo aircraft were grounded starting December 2023 due to engine issues.
The returning aircraft are expected to be out of grounding by the end of this year or early next year.
Analysts suggest increased capacity could lead to softening airfares.
