Eleven Indian Seafarers Dead as 139 Remain Stuck in Hormuz

India’s shipping ministry reported that 11 Indian seafarers have died since the West Asia crisis began.

Another 139 Indian seafarers are still stuck in the Strait of Hormuz.

The Strait is an important route for ships, and the conflict has affected it.

Officials said Indian-flagged ships were attacked four times.

They also reported 74 incidents involving foreign-flagged ships that had Indian crew members aboard.

So far, 4,292 Indian seafarers have been brought home safely.

The figures were shared by ministry secretary Vijay Kumar.

He spoke at a press conference for the Sagar Manthan dialogue.
