Indian Railways Adds Special Trains for Festive Travel

Indian Railways Adds Special Trains for Festive Travel

Indian Railways is adding special trains to help people travel during the Sankranti festival, Christmas, New Year, and other big events.

These extra trains will go to places like Kakinada Town, Vikarabad, Nanded, Machilipatnam, and between New Delhi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra.

They will have different types of seats, like AC, sleeper, and general second-class, so everyone can find a comfortable ride.

For Christmas and New Year, the railways also ran special suburban trains to help people get to and from special places.

The railways are happy because everything went smoothly, and they think this is a good way to handle big crowds during special events.

In 2025, Indian Railways operated over 43,000 special train trips to help people travel during festivals like Maha Kumbh, Holi, and Chhath Puja.
