Madras High Court Dismisses CGST Case Against Apollo Tyres
The Madras High Court has decided in favor of Apollo Tyres, a big tire company, in a legal case.
The court stopped a legal process that was started against Apollo Tyres under a tax law.
This is good news for the company because they were fighting a case that involved a lot of money, ₹2,791 million.
Apart from this, Apollo Tyres also shared their financial results for the last three months.
They made less profit than last year, but their overall business did well.
They sold more tires and made more money from their operations.
This happened because more people wanted their tires in Europe and Asia, and their costs for making tires went down.
Madras High Court quashed CGST proceedings against Apollo Tyres under Section 74 of the CGST Act.
The litigation involved a disputed amount of ₹2,791 million.
Apollo Tyres reported a 13% decline in net profit to ₹258 crore for Q2 2023.
Revenues rose 6% to ₹6,831 crore, and EBITDA increased 16.2% to ₹1,020 crore.
The company attributed growth to steady demand in Europe and Asia and lower raw material costs.
