TNGOs Union Welcomes Government Decision to Increase DA
The government has decided to give state employees a higher Dearness Allowance, or DA.
DA is an allowance paid to employees.
The TNGOs Union welcomed the decision.
Its general secretary, S.M. Hussaini Mujeeb, thanked the government.
The DA rate will go up to 37.31% starting January 1, 2024.
It will rise again to 40.04% starting July 1, 2024.
Mujeeb said the increase responds to employees’ demand.
He also said it supports their welfare.
