Cockroach Janta Party Backs Devendra Mahto's Ranchi Hunger Strike
In a place called Jharkhand, many students are upset about their job exams.
They think the exams that decide who gets government jobs were not fair.
So they are holding a protest called a demonstration in the city of Ranchi.
The students' leader is Devendra Nath Mahto.
To show how serious he is, Mahto has stopped eating food — this is called a hunger strike.
He has been doing this for about ten days.
The students want a special investigation team called the CBI to look into the exams.
They also want a new, fair way of choosing people for jobs.
A man named Abhijeet Dipke leads a group called the Cockroach Janta Party.
His group is supporting the students and helping them with their protest.
Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke said his party's team is already in Ranchi working to strengthen the protest led by student leader Devendra Nath Mahto.
Mahto has been on hunger strike for around 10 days over the demands of Jharkhand's students, according to Dipke.
The Ranchi protest has entered its second week, with demonstrators pressing demands concerning jobs and recruitment in Jharkhand.
Students are demanding a CBI investigation into alleged irregularities in Jharkhand's JPSC-JSSC recruitment exams, along with reforms for a transparent and fair recruitment process.
Dipke said he remains in regular contact with students in Jharkhand and spoke to Mahto late Monday night to enquire about his health.
