Allahabad HC seeks explanation over teacher's dismissal after death
A teacher named Mukul Saxena passed away in May 2021 due to Covid-19.
Over a year later, in July 2022, the education department started proceedings to dismiss him from his job.
His widow, Priti Saxena, was receiving a family pension until it was stopped in December 2022.
She went to court, and the Allahabad High Court found it very surprising that the department tried to dismiss someone who was already dead.
The court asked the education director to explain why this happened and to file a personal affidavit within a week.
