Ajay Seth Appointed IRDAI Chairman, Succeeding Debasish Panda
The Indian government has chosen Ajay Seth to be the new boss of the IRDAI, which is like the head office for all insurance companies in India.
He's taking over from the previous boss, Debasish Panda, who finished his time in March.
Ajay Seth will be in charge for up to three years or until he's 65, whichever comes first.
He used to work in the Finance Ministry and has a background in administration and engineering.
This means he will be overseeing the rules and regulations that insurance companies have to follow.
Ajay Seth has been appointed as the new Chairman of IRDAI.
He will succeed Debasish Panda, whose term concluded on March 13.
Seth's appointment is for three years or until he turns 65.
He is a 1987-batch Indian Administrative Service officer.
Seth previously served as the Finance Secretary.
