Trump to Honor Historic Artemis II Crew With Medals
Four astronauts flew around the Moon on NASA’s Artemis II mission.
They spent 10 days in space aboard the Orion spacecraft.
It was the first time Orion carried people.
The crew also travelled farther from Earth than any humans before them.
President Donald Trump plans to give them a major space award.
The ceremony is scheduled for August 28 in Houston.
Victor Glover was the first Black astronaut on a lunar mission.
Christina Koch was the first woman assigned to a mission around the Moon.
NASA used the mission to test systems needed for future trips to the Moon and eventually Mars.
President Donald Trump will present the Congressional Space Medal of Honour to the four Artemis II astronauts.
Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch and Jeremy Hansen completed a 10-day flight around the Moon on April 10.
