Gujarat CM Honors Deendayal Upadhyaya, Joins Ahmedabad Welfare Programme
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel honored Deendayal Upadhyaya in Ahmedabad.
He placed flowers at Upadhyaya’s statue on Upadhyaya’s birth anniversary.
Several ministers, elected representatives and officials attended the ceremony.
Upadhyaya was a leader of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh.
He supported Antyodaya, which means helping people at the lowest level of society.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also remembered him and his ideas.
Later, Patel joined a government help programme called Seva Setu.
Citizens received certificates, financial assistance and help accessing government schemes.

The ceremony at Anupam Bridge was attended by Gujarat ministers, elected representatives and municipal officials.
Upadhyaya, born on September 25, 1916, led the Bharatiya Jana Sangh from 1967 until his death in 1968.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi remembered Upadhyaya’s Antyodaya philosophy and its focus on uplifting society’s poorest people.
Patel later joined the 12th phase of Ahmedabad’s Seva Setu programme, distributing certificates and assistance to beneficiaries.
