Water Supply Improves in Merged GHMC Areas
In Hyderabad, 27 smaller cities and towns have joined the bigger city area called GHMC.
This means that the water supply will get better in these new areas.
Before, the water bills were paid by the local governments, but now each house will get its own special number for water bills.
Also, the new area will have better machines to fix problems with dirty water.
This is good because the old local governments didn't have these machines and couldn't fix the problems as well.
27 urban local bodies merged into GHMC, improving water supply in new areas.
Households in merged areas to receive Consumer Account Numbers (CAN) for water billing.
HMWS&SB to handle sewage issues with advanced equipment like jetting machines.
Previously, local bodies lacked equipment to resolve sewage overflow problems.
Water bills were paid by civic bodies based on meter readings, but now individual households will be billed.
