NHRC Orders GHMC to Halt Garbage Dumping at Hindu Graveyard
The National Human Rights Commission told the GHMC to stop dumping garbage and moving waste at a Hindu graveyard in Hyderabad.
They said this was hurting people's rights, disrespecting the dead, and causing health problems.
The GHMC and a private company called Ramky were doing this work.
The commission said they must stop right away.
NHRC ordered GHMC to immediately stop garbage dumping at Macha Bolaram Hindu graveyard.
Garbage dumping and waste transfer operations by GHMC and Ramky were targeted.
The actions were deemed human rights violations affecting the dignity of the deceased.
Public health concerns were also cited as a reason for the order.
