Violence at Arunachal SIR Hearing Prompts Bordumsa Prohibitory Orders

A meeting about voter lists became violent in Bordumsa.

The meeting was about claims and objections involving voters in Bijoypur.

It had first taken place on September 3 and was moved to the ADC office on September 4.

Officials said some AAPSU protesters forced their way into the office and damaged property.

They also said stones were thrown at people from Chakma and Hajong communities.

An AAPSU volunteer was injured during later stone-pelting.

AAPSU gave a different account and said its members were attacked with knives and daos.

The administration imposed restrictions and sent more police to control the situation.
