India Probes Nylon Chip Imports from China, Russia
India has started an investigation to check if China and Russia are selling nylon chips too cheaply.
These chips are used in making textiles.
A company in India, Gujarat Polyfilms, said these cheap imports are hurting their business.
The government will decide if they need to add extra taxes on these imports to make things fair.
This is allowed under global trade rules.
India's DGTR has initiated an anti-dumping probe into nylon chip imports from China and Russia.
Gujarat Polyfilms alleged that cheap imports are impacting the domestic industry.
The probe focuses on Nylon 6 Chips and Granules with RV below 3.
DGTR found sufficient evidence of dumping to initiate the investigation.
The finance ministry will decide on imposing anti-dumping duties if dumping is confirmed.
