AITC MP Demands Shah Resign Over NEET Leak Protest
Sagarika Ghose, a member of the All India Trinamool Congress, spoke in the Rajya Sabha on July 30, 2026.
She said the Home Minister, Amit Shah, should resign because of how police handled protests about leaked NEET exam papers.
She also said the new exam law only makes punishments harsher.
Another MP, Brij Lal, said no pellet guns were used on protestors.
But Tiruchi Siva said some protestors were hit by pellet guns and the Supreme Court ordered hospitals to treat them.
The debate shows different views on how the government should act and whether the new law is fair.
AITC MP Sagarika Ghose demanded Home Minister Amit Shah resign over police action on NEET paper leak protests.
Ghose criticized the 2026 Public Examinations Amendment Bill as merely increasing punishment without reform.
She accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of not expressing sympathy for affected students.
BJP MP Brij Lal denied use of pellet guns on protestors, while DMK MP Tiruchi Siva confirmed pellet gun injuries and a Supreme Court directive.
