Gagan Narang Urges Elavenil To Reset After Double Silver
Elavenil Valarivan won two silver medals at the Asian Games.
One medal came from the women’s team event, and the other came from the individual event.
Her mentor, Gagan Narang, called her to celebrate.
He also gave her advice for her next competition.
He told her to rest, drink water, eat well and sleep properly.
He said she should focus on one shot at a time.
He also told her not to worry about other shooters or change her routine suddenly.
Elavenil will next compete in the mixed-team event.
Elavenil Valarivan won silver in both the women’s 10m air rifle team and individual events.
Her mentor, former Olympic medallist Gagan Narang, video-called her after the competitions.
Narang advised her to recover, stay hydrated, eat well, sleep properly and trust her routine.
He urged Elavenil to avoid overanalysing, chasing scores or medals, and changing her technique or equipment.
Elavenil’s next competition is the mixed-team 10m air rifle event after pre-event training.
