Air India expands Salesforce AI to speed customer service
Air India is using a computer system called Agentforce to help with customer service.
The system can process some refunds much faster than before.
Refund processing that took about 14 days now takes around four hours inside the airline.
Fixing a passenger’s name on a ticket can take about 30 minutes instead of three days.
The system can understand several requests in one email, such as questions about refunds, baggage, or loyalty programs.
It can also carry out eligible ticket changes and help staff quickly find airline rules.
Automatic replies are sent only when the system is more than 95% confident in its answer.
People continue to oversee the system when needed.
Air India says it wants to use AI while keeping accuracy, governance, and human judgment.
Air India says Salesforce Agentforce cut internal refund processing from about 14 days to roughly four hours.
Ticket name corrections now take about 30 minutes instead of approximately three days, the companies said.
The expanded system handles multi-request emails, automates eligible name changes, and helps staff find policies and fare rules.
Agentforce sends automated email replies only when its confidence exceeds 95%, with human oversight when required.
Air India says its cloud-first ecosystem spans more than 140 enterprise systems and includes over 30 agentic AI initiatives.
