Adani Plans Rs One Lakh Crore Bengal Expansion
Gautam Adani said West Bengal could help India grow more in the future.
He said the eastern part of India needs to become a new centre of economic activity.
Adani Group plans to invest more than Rs 1 lakh crore in Bengal over the next 10 years.
The projects may include ports, roads, power facilities and data centres.
Adani said Bengal is well placed because it is near mineral-producing states and overseas markets.
A new 2,000-bed hospital is being planned in New Town.
Half of its beds are intended for people who cannot afford good healthcare.
The group also said it would support cultural and heritage projects in Kolkata and Bengal.
