Hill Homestays May Cost Less Than City Rentals
Some people can work from hill towns while staying in a homestay.
The article lists places in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and other hill destinations.
Some monthly Airbnb options cost less than ₹25,000.
Another website lists weekly prices, starting at ₹4,000.
A four-week stay at that price would be ₹16,000.
The article compares these prices with typical rents for two-bedroom flats in Indian cities.
Mumbai has the highest rent in the comparison, at ₹60,000 a month.
But not every hill stay is cheaper than every city rent.
The price depends on which place you choose.
Airbnb lists monthly hill stays from ₹18,898 in Naggar to ₹29,368 for Sunny Days Homestay.
Other listed monthly options include stays in Kaza, Darjeeling, Gangtok and Shimla, with Wi-Fi noted at the listed destinations.
HomeStays of India weekly prices range from ₹4,000 at Cozy Courtyard in Chamoli to ₹17,500 at Mountain Solace in McLeod Ganj.
Find Ghosla’s July 2026 median monthly rent for two-bedroom flats ranges from ₹24,000 in Noida to ₹60,000 in Mumbai.
Some hill stays cost less than all the cited city rents, but others exceed the rents in Delhi, Pune or Noida.
