Missing Kumhed River Culvert Puts Harpai Children at Risk

Missing Kumhed River Culvert Puts Harpai Children at Risk

Harpai village does not have a safe bridge-like culvert over the Kumhed River.

During the rainy season, the river becomes deep and moves very quickly.

This makes it hard for people to travel between the village and nearby places.

Children going to school are especially affected.

Some wait on the riverbank for the water to go down.

Other villagers carry them across or help them through the current.

Residents worry that someone could be seriously hurt.

They are asking officials to build a safe culvert soon.
