Neeru Dhanda Wins Historic Asian Games Trap Gold for India

Neeru Dhanda is an Indian shooter who competed at the 2026 Asian Games.

She won the women’s individual trap gold medal.

She hit 28 out of 30 targets in the final, setting a new Asian record.

China’s Yunong Sun won silver, and Kuwait’s Hajar Abdulmalik won bronze.

Dhanda had qualified for the final with a score of 118.

She had also helped India win silver in the team event earlier that day.

Dhanda competed after recovering from a serious illness shortly before the Games.

Rain and cold weather made the targets harder to see, but she stayed focused.

She said her next major goal is Olympic success.
