Bidhan Market to get facelift, SMC addresses issues

Bidhan Market in Siliguri is going to get a big makeover.

The city officials visited the market and talked to the shop owners.

The shop owners said the market has problems like bad drains, not enough lights, and trash not being picked up properly.

They also want their shop leases to be made official.

The officials promised to fix these problems.

They will start picking up trash every day by 9 am and fix the broken lights.

They will also clean the clogged drains to stop water from flooding the market.

The market has about 1,600 shops and makes around ₹20 crore every day.

The officials will also think about making the shop leases official in their next meeting.
