ED Director Visits Kolkata Amid I-PAC Search Row
The head of the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Rahul Navin, is visiting Kolkata for three days.
This visit is important because there was a big argument about some searches the ED did at a political consultancy firm called I-PAC and the home of its boss, Pratik Jain.
The searches were about an old coal scam.
The Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, said the ED's actions were politically motivated.
Both sides have made complaints, and the case is now in the Supreme Court.
The ED director will talk to the officers who did the searches and give them advice on how to handle such situations in the future.
ED Director Rahul Navin is visiting Kolkata for three days starting January 21.
The visit follows controversial searches at I-PAC's office and Pratik Jain's residence on January 8.
Mamata Banerjee alleged the ED's actions were politically motivated.
The matter is currently in the Supreme Court with a hearing scheduled for February 3.
Navin will advise officers on handling administrative obstruction during enforcement actions.
