Indian Stock Market Drops Amid Middle East Tensions
The Indian stock market had a bad day on Tuesday, 21 July.
The Sensex and Nifty 50 both went down.
The Sensex lost 238 points, and the Nifty 50 lost 51 points.
This happened because there are big problems in the Middle East, and oil prices are going up.
The Houthis, a group in Yemen, said they might block ships going to Saudi Arabia.
This makes people worried about the supply of oil around the world.
But, smaller companies in the market did better because people think they will make good money this quarter.
Sensex ended 238 points lower at 77,470.11, a 0.31% drop.
Nifty 50 settled at 24,187.70, down 51 points or 0.21%.
Mid and small-cap segments outperformed with Nifty Midcap 100 up 0.30% and Smallcap 100 up 0.53%.
Tensions between the US and Iran and rising crude oil prices drove the market down.
Houthis threatened a naval blockade on Saudi Arabia, raising concerns about global energy supply disruption.
