Delhi combats severe air pollution
Delhi is having a big problem with very bad air.
Some places in Delhi have air so polluted that it's hard to breathe.
The government is trying to fix this by using water to clean the air and making sure cars follow rules to reduce pollution.
They are also adding new bus routes and taking over some other buses to help more people use public transport instead of cars.
This will help make the air cleaner and healthier for everyone.
The air quality is being measured, and it's very bad in some areas.
The government is working hard to make the air better.
Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) reached 413, categorized as 'severe' in some areas.
Key pollution hotspots include Anand Vihar (466), Chandni Chowk (425), and Ashok Vihar (444).
GRAP Stage-IV actions were invoked to curb extreme air pollution, including truck-mounted water sprinklers.
The Delhi government is exploring pooled and shared electric bus services to reduce vehicular pollution.
The Delhi government introduced two new DTC bus routes and will take over operational control of DIMTS buses from the next financial year.
