Waaree Energies Secures ₹1,003 Crore for Battery Plant
Waaree Energies, a company that makes solar panels and other energy products, just got ₹1,003 crore from investors.
This money will help them build a big factory to make batteries for things like electric cars and storing energy from the sun.
The factory will be part of a larger plan to spend ₹10,000 crore on making more energy products.
The company's director said this investment shows that people believe in their plan to make India a leader in making batteries for clean energy.
The factory will help India use more clean energy and make fewer imports.
The company's stock went down a little after the announcement.
Waaree Energies raised ₹1,003 crore from strategic investors for a 20 GWh lithium-ion cell and battery pack manufacturing plant.
The funding is part of a ₹10,000 crore capital expenditure plan to strengthen India's domestic energy storage ecosystem.
The plant will focus on utility-scale storage, electric mobility, and distributed energy applications.
Ankit Doshi, Director of WESSPL, expressed confidence in the vision to build world-class energy storage manufacturing in India.
