Chopra's Coach Travels to Glasgow at Own Cost
Neeraj Chopra is a famous javelin thrower from India.
His personal coach, Jaiveer Chaudhary, went to the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow to help him.
Chaudhary paid for his own travel because he was not part of the official team.
The Indian Olympic Association gave him permission to be there.
This shows how athletes sometimes need extra help even if it costs them money.
Neeraj Chopra’s personal coach Jaiveer Chaudhary attended the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow at his own expense.
Chaudhary was not part of the official Indian contingent, which included five coaches cleared by the Sports Ministry.
The Indian Olympic Association provided Chaudhary with accreditation and access to the field of play.
Chopra, along with teammates Rohit Yadav and Yashvir Singh, qualified for the men’s javelin final.
The Sports Ministry policy restricts personal coaches from being included in official contingents, even if they pay their own costs.
