Telangana banks lead Atal Pension Yojana surge
The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) had a meeting with banks and leaders in Telangana.
They talked about the Atal Pension Yojana (APY), a government plan to help people save for retirement.
The APY has added one crore new members this year, and Telangana banks have already met 61% of their yearly goal.
The officials want more people, especially those who work in small jobs, to join this plan.
They believe it will help them have a secure future.
Other important organizations like NABARD and RBI also joined the discussion.
PFRDA conducted an outreach programme for banks and LDMs in Telangana to discuss APY enrolment.
APY recorded its fastest-ever enrolment of one crore subscribers during the current financial year.
Cumulatively, 8.59 crore subscribers have been enrolled under APY across the country.
Telangana banks have achieved 61% of their annual APY targets for FY 2025-26.
