BCCI to Consider Associate Membership for Andaman Cricket
The BCCI is the organization that oversees cricket in India.
It will hold an important meeting on September 28 in Mumbai.
One topic will be whether to give the Andaman and Nicobar Islands a type of cricket membership.
The local cricket group there is called Cricket Association Andaman & Nicobar.
This group promotes cricket but does not yet belong to the BCCI.
The BCCI will ask its existing members what they think.
The islands include more than 800 islands far from mainland India.
This is the first time the BCCI will discuss taking responsibility for cricket there.
The BCCI has called its annual general body meeting for September 28 in Mumbai.
Members will discuss whether to grant associate membership to Cricket Association Andaman & Nicobar.
The regional association promotes cricket in the union territory but is not currently affiliated with the BCCI.
