Israel Opens Probe Into Hind Rajab Gaza Car Shooting

Israel Opens Probe Into Hind Rajab Gaza Car Shooting

Hind Rajab was a five-year-old Palestinian girl in Gaza.

On January 29, 2024, she was traveling with relatives when their car came under fire in Gaza City.

Hind and her cousin Layan called emergency workers and begged for help.

Hind said she was scared, hurt, and near a tank.

An ambulance was sent, but the two paramedics were also killed.

Hind and her relatives were found dead 12 days later.

Israel’s military first said its troops were not near the car, but later acknowledged that they fired at the car and ambulance.

The military has now opened a criminal investigation, but Hind’s mother and rights groups say an independent investigation is needed.

Reports differ over whether six or seven people were in the car, but all accounts say Hind, family members, and two paramedics died.
