Maharashtra Plans Counterfeit Drug Screening In Government Hospitals

Maharashtra wants to make sure medicines in government hospitals are safe and genuine.

Health officials will use small portable machines to check medicine supplies.

Trained pharmacists will operate these machines.

Special teams will visit health centers and hospitals across the state.

They will check facilities in all eight health circles.

Pharmacists will receive training before the checks begin.

The first round of testing is planned within three months.

The government also wants an independent laboratory to examine medicines supplied by vendors.
