Supreme Court Halts HC Order on CBI Probe
The Supreme Court has paused a decision by the Andhra Pradesh High Court about a CBI investigation.
The High Court had a problem with a CBI officer, J Venkat Rao, being involved in the investigation of ghee adulteration used in Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam.
The Supreme Court is now looking into this, as they don't see a problem with an officer helping with the investigation.
The court is also looking into claims that one of the people involved was pressured by the officer to make false statements.
The Supreme Court stayed an Andhra Pradesh High Court order.
The order concerned the CBI investigation into ghee adulteration.
The High Court had questioned a CBI officer's participation in the probe.
The Supreme Court saw no issue with the officer assisting the investigation.
